Jane E's Story
Life
Since graduation in 1965, I Jane (Woodman) Foster, have been in Management for Van Heausen, Gitano, La-Z-Boy and Lifestyle Furniture. I also was a Buyer for GC Murphy Co. for eight years and Buyer co-ordinator for Drug Fair Inc, for eight years.
In 2000 I got Ordained as a Chaplain. I've did Nursing Home Ministry and Music Ministry until 2012.
My husband, Rod (RJ), and I play Southen Gospel music. He plays guitar and I play mandolin. I also have a singing partner, Janet Fulkerson, my sister in Christ.
In past years I have taught Adult Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and was the ladies Assistant Missionary leader for Kingsland Chapel in Stafford, Va. I preached on the 2nd Sunday evening each month as well as did a half hour service each week at the Brooke Nursing Home in Stafford.
My husband was Pres. of The Business Men's Fellowship in Fredericksburg, Va. for five years and we also played music and sang there. We had a group of about 20 who meet weekly. When not preaching or being at the Nursing Home we traveled to local Revivals, Wedings and church events with The Short Family from Rt 3. My husband and I are known as III N I Anointed. We also offer Gospel karaoke to church youth groups.
We have two wonderful sons Brian and Jo. Brian and his wife Karen, live in Fredericksburg with their daughters, Olivia and Sara. Jo lives in Alabama with his wife Catrina and their two girls Skylar and McKenzie.
Rod and I moved to Colonial Beach outskirts, three blocks from the beach in 2002. We loved to ride around frequently in our golf cart and enjoy the sunsets over the water.
The best time...Expand for more
s of our lives was when our sons were at home. We often went camping, boating, fishing, water skiing and winters we snow skied, We had 8 other boys who frequently stayed with us, some of whoem we had temporary custody.
Rod and I did a Music Ministry at the Colonial Beach Moose Lodge on the 3rd, 4th, and 5th Sundays each month from 5 til 8 pm. We had approximately 42 in attendance nightly with 15 musicians and 13 singers. We did open mic.
In 2012 I had several seizures and then a stroke leaving me temporarily paralyzed in my right arm and left leg, plus I couldn't speak. Through prayer I came out of my bondage and after 3 wks began to speak again but lost a lot of words. Through time I now speak fine. I got the use of my left leg back and my arm with slight limitations. For the most part I use a cane. I am truly Blessed! The Lord said He would never leave us nor forsake us and He sure stood by me. In that same year my husband started having kidney failure and since I couldn't care for myself at that time, our youngest son and eight relatives of his wife's family came to VA. and packed us and brought us to Al. where we have lived now from Sept. 2012 to Jan. 2015. Last March 2014 my husband had a stroke. Thank God he is fine except for slight memory loss. His kidneys are fine now also! We now have a new home and live on our own again. On Jan. 13th 2015 we got our first Great Grandbaby, Paisley, 7 lbs 15 oz. We celebrated 44 yrs together in Oct. 2014. Many wonderful years of great family and friends. We look forward to many more years to come.
